Custom Software Applications for SSN Validation

For software developers who wish to add Social Security Number Validation, SSN Trace, Deceased File (DMF) Processing, E-Commerce ID Verification and other U.S. Patriot Act Compliance capability to their custom or commercial applications, we provide two solutions:1. The Veris Software Developer's Kit (SDK). The Veris SDK contains a library of SSN validation software routines that may be linked directly to a custom application.2. XML script to link your application directly to our secure server for on line processing. In a typical use of this Veris option, a company develops and markets an application for preparing income tax returns, tenant or employment screening, new accounts, money transfers, stock transactions or mortgage processing. A social security number is a critical identifier. Clerical errors, wrong numbers and fraudulent use of SSNs can result in improper identification leaving the company at risk of liability. The application can catch these problems by accessing the Veris library to validate the SSN as it is entered. The Veris software identifies the problem immediately, allowing the operator to take corrective action.

Veris Software Developer's Kits are available for Windows, Linux, Solaris, and MacOS platforms. The Veris library is thread-safe and the SDK comes with example code for accessing the library from C/C++, Visual Basic, and JAVA applications. The Veris library provides basic SSN validation and optionally, retired SSN owner identification and active SSN owner identification information. Veris databases are located on the customer machine or the on line secure Veris server. Name and address information is on remote databases via the Internet.
