How will SSN randomization plan affect our customers?
We currently offer several ways to verify SSNs.
- Basic validation - this validation indicates if or when a ssn was assigned as well if the person has since been reported deceased.
Under the new randomization scheme, after June 2011 we will not be able to report for which state an ssn was assigned or even if it was assigned at all
if it is one of the new randomization numbers. We will be able to report if and when the ssn was assigned, if prior to June 2011, as well as if the person is deceased or not.
- Active ID validation - this validation does the above as well as includes the name, date of birth, address, previous addresses as
well as other possible spellings of the name. This service will not be affected by the randomization except if the number is assigned
after June 2011 we will not be able to report which state the individual resided in at the time they were assigned the number. This information is obtained
from commercial data bases comprised of data from credit files, motor vehicle records, voter registration, marketing databases and much more. While this data does not come
from the social security administration it has been found to be very accurate for most uses.
Utilizing any or a combination of the above services should serve to fill your validation needs. Some restrictions apply regarding access to this information and
we do require that you complete an application that we must verify
and keep on file. Click here for a printable file (PDF) of our application which
you may complete and fax to us at (888)796-2852.
